Harman/Becker to close

Inside INdiana Business reports that a major Martinsville employer will close down by January 2009:

Harman/Becker Automotive Systems, once one of Morgan County's largest employers, will begin a phase out of operations leading to an eventual closure next January.

Last year, Inside INdiana Business reported job cuts at the facility that reduced the workforce to about 340. The plant manufactures automotive speakers and speaker systems.
