Westville losing 300 Nash Finch jobs

An additional WARN notice posted today indicates that 300 workers at Nash Finch in Westville will be losing their jobs soon. Nash Finch is a food product distribution company headquartered in Minneapolis. It is one of the largest employers in Westville, a small community in Northwest Indiana.

The notice appears to indicate a closure, not just layoffs. This, much like last week's announcement from Pernod Ricard USA in Lawrenceburg, will have a terrible effect on the local economy.

Why isn't Mitch Daniels talking about this issue?

Call center jobs are something, but we need to see more focus on making sure Indiana is moving forward, not just treading water.
