Michigan automotive supplier Delphi will lay off 55 autoworkers today in Kokomo as it reduces production volumes to match orders, Delphi spokesman Milton Beech said.
Delphi employs 4,300 people in Kokomo, its electronics headquarters.
Auto-parts suppliers are cutting back production throughout the nation, expecting
auto sales will decline in 2008. Automakers are on pace to sell 16.5 million cars and trucks this year, down 2.6 percent from 2006.
